Care & Maintenance
Washing Pashmina Instructions
- Hand wash only: Avoid the washing machine entirely. Agitation can cause pilling and weaken the fabric.
- Use cold water: Hot water can distort the fibers typically found in sublimated blends
- Choose mild detergent: Use a gentle liquid detergent, baby shampoo, or a specialized wool/delicate wash. Avoid bleach and harsh fabric softeners, which can degrade the dye bonds.
- Wash gently: Submerge the pashmina and gently agitate the water with your hands. Do not wring, scrub, or twist the fabric, as this causes stretching and friction damage.
Drying Instructions
- Press out water: Lay the pashmina flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel up with the pashmina inside and press gently to absorb excess water.
- Air dry flat: Lay the pashmina flat on a drying rack or a fresh towel away from direct sunlight and direct heat sources.
- Do not tumble dry: The high heat of a dryer will melt or warp the synthetic fibers and can cause the sublimated ink to bleed or fade.
- Do not hang wet: Hanging a heavy, wet pashmina will stretch the fabric out of shape and ruin its drape.
